Northeast Power is Hiring a Project Manager Near Palmyra, MO

Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative (Northeast Power) is a transmission cooperative delivering power to northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa. We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team at the Palmyra, Missouri, location.

What You Will Do:

This position will be responsible for the management of the Northeast Power portfolio of projects as well as management of assigned projects for Northeast Power facilities, including, but not limited to substations, transmission lines, telecommunication towers, control buildings, and related facilities. Focus is typically on managing large, complex projects. In addition, you will:

  • Develop and maintain project management processes using industry-leading software tools to plan, track, and optimize portfolio of projects.
  • Provide management with resource planning tools and project controls deliverables, including comprehensive reports on project status, schedules, budgets and cost forecasts.
  • Assist with initiating, planning, executing and controlling the project management of Northeast Power new construction and system upgrades to ensure critical projects are successful from concept to completion.
  • Oversee the preparation of environmental reports and permitting processes for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Administer the bidding process for construction contracts, evaluating proposals, and making recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate closely with internal departments (Engineering, Operations, Telecommunications) and external stakeholders (contractors, suppliers) to ensure project success.

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a strong leader with a proven ability to manage large, complex projects. This role requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who is proficient in the technical and logistical aspects related to utility projects. In addition, we are looking for:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or construction related field required. Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or a related engineering field, preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or ability to obtain with registration in Missouri and Iowa. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) or an equivalent certification from accredited program is desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the construction or utility industry, preferably with a generation and transmission cooperative. Minimum 5 years in a Project Management or Construction Management role.
  • Knowledge of RUS construction requirements and project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., ORACLE Primavera, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills.
